Paper tape week: day 3 - Michelle

Hi,
Remember I told you at the beginning of the week that some of the DT would show you how to make your own paper tape? well Michelle is going to demonstrate how to make it with double sided tape and tissue paper.

Heres how I made the tissue paper tape

To ensure that tissue remained smooth and didnt crinkle I taped some DS tape, sticky side up on to my work mat.

Then starting at one end I smoothed the tissue (smooth side up) over the tape ensuring it wasn't stretched. I then trimmed it to the edge of the DS tape. I did consider using deckle edge scissors to trim with - will try that another time!

The tissue was then coloured with TH Distress inks by gently brushing the ink over the tape, and stamped using Versafine ink pads. (I find these do not bleed on the tissue as much as some inks)

The final stamping of the bobbin top and the script was done with black Versafine.

I made this tape in exactly the same way using Old Paper and Antique linen distress ink to colour the tissue, and then stamped with brown Versafine, finishing off with black Versafine as before.

And here's how I used it on the calendar page.

To make both the card and the calender page Michelle used
Stamps - Hot Picks 1214 on EZ mount
Versafine - Imperial Purple, Deep Lagoon, Smokey Gray, Onyx Black
